GOVERNOR PATERSON ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF ADDITIONAL AGENCY SPENDING REDUCTION PLANS
The Division of the Budget (DOB) today posted 20 additional approved financial management plans (FMPs) submitted by executive commissioners in response to Governor Paterson’s call for a 3.35 percent reduction in projected agency spending. These spending plans are available on the Division of the Budget’s website.
Last Wednesday, DOB posted 23 finalized FMPs on its website. Today's announcement brings the total number of approved agency spending reduction proposals to 43.
DOB is currently in the process of reviewing the remaining plans to ensure that the savings agencies proposed are real, recurring, and achievable. As additional proposals are approved, they will be posted to DOB’s website. Updates will be added to the site quarterly to show agencies' progress in achieving their savings goals, and all plans are expected to be approved no later than June 30.
